I swoon.

No, really. I swoon completely. I get lovey feelings when I see him.

This crush is going on 18 years now. Is that too long?
Ps...go see Shooter.

Dramatic Children

"CHEST PAIN!!!"
"MY FOOT HURTS!!!"
This was not them posing for pictures. This is just what my children are like sometimes.

Now this is posing. Corina says she's "a Matrix" when she wears this coat.

They went to their dad's again this weekend. That's twice this year for Corina! I'm going to get tons of homework done, and I'm going to see Shooter. (And I'm going to miss them.)

My American Accent

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: North Central

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

The West

The Midland

Boston

The Inland North

The South

Philadelphia

The Northeast

Canadian? That's insulting.

Sitting in a tree

Corina was telling me something she hears other kids saying sometimes.

Robbie and Jordan sitting in a tree
K-I-S-S-I-N-G
First come love,
Then comes marriage,
Then comes the baby in a baby carriage.

Awesome! Stuff from my own childhood. We said it a bunch of times together, and then I taught her some extra parts to it (sucking his thumb, pooing his pants, trying to do the hula dance). I was curious if Corina even knew what she was singing about. I asked her what K-I-S-S-I-N-G spells.
"Ummmm......sex?"

The big cub car rally!

Here are Max and Corina before the races began. They were both very excited!

Here is the very first race. Max is watching his car come down the track. Can you tell how it's going by the look on his face?

Each Cub got to race six times. Here's Max after his fourth race.

He ended up coming in last place. That's last out of every single Cub there. Poor little monkey! (And what a nice sister he has.) By the fifth race he had decided not to be sad anymore, and we just laughed about his silly car. We pretended the point of the race was to defy gravity and have the car that refused to move down the track. And that means Max won!

He did get an award though. They gave five awards for the best looking car. Yay! In the end looks are all that matter anyway, right?

I'm so proud of him. He's such a good sport.

Family fun time...

Today was Treat Day. We went museuming. They had a collection called Auschwitz - The Eva Brewster Story that we wanted to see. It took us so long to go through it that we didn't have time for anything else in the musuem before they closed. We'll have to go back another day.

This is what you see right outside our museum. How pretty is that? HOW??? Those are the coulees. Corina calls them the pretties.

Wednesday was Max's cub car rally with his pack. He came in first for his age group and got a gold medal. Yay! Tomorrow is the huge rally with hundreds of kids. We're not expecting a medal there, but we know we're getting hot dogs. Those are almost as good.

And if you didn't already know it...Corina is awesome.
Very awesome.

One more picture of my mom.

I look like her. And my brother Barry looks like he is my dad. I wish I had a picture of him I could post, because it's really funny.

And just because it's cute, here are Max and Corina working together on Max's cub car. They're such a good little team.

Pictures of my mom

I caught a glimpse of Otrivin at the drugstore the other day, and it gave me such a weird feeling. I felt like I was a kid again in my mom's room, watching her sniff it. She did that a lot. It's not just that it reminded me of her, but more like the bottle looked like her. Does that make sense? Anyway, that got me thinking about all the things that remind me of my mom. And there they are. I love her.

Kids in the Hall

I can't find something, but I bet one of you can. I'm trying to find the video by Kids in the Hall called Terriers. I can find practically every skit of theirs except the one I'm looking for. I'll be ever so grateful.

Midget comedian.

I decided to take Corina to my afternoon math class tomorrow. When I told her about it tonight, I wanted it to be an exciting announcement. I told her I had a feeling she needed a little extra Mommy time, and asked her if she thought so. She just kind of stared at me, so I said, "Are you feeling extra Mommyish? Do you feel like you need a little extra time with me?" She kept staring at me, so I asked the same thing again. Finally she spoke. She said, "Well I'm not going to make out with you, if that's what you wanted."

She's only five years old, and she has already developed the most awesome sense of humour ever. She totally kills me.

Math teacher

Today I invented an AWESOME way to teach long division. I'm going to completely change math instruction as we know it. Tomorrow I get to try it out on some students. It's going to work. IT IS!

My email is broken.

This is not my inbox:

The reason I'm not emailing you back is because Yahoo is on drugs. It's not because I don't love you. I do love you. (Very much.) Anyone know how to make my email work again?

I'm alone.

They both went to their dad's this weekend. Both of them! It's the first time since December. I miss them. The house feels way too empty.

Official website

This is something everyone should see. It's important.

Psst...if you click where I typed "this is something", it will show you something. Can you even tell it's bold? On my computer it's totally not.

Drugs.

Here's a legal way to get high. Well, I think I was high. I don't know a lot about these things. I don't get to rest when I'm sick now that I'm a grownup, so I bought Tylenol Cold Daytime today to keep me going. There may be meth in it. I could hardly close my eyes long enough to blink, I was shaking a little, and I felt like I was running on the inside. Now and then I may have been hyperventilating. Is that better than having a bad cold? I'm not so sure, but I'll take another one tomorrow before I make my final decision. And then I'll shave my head and go to rehab.
