PSA on Racial Profiling

Fairness, Forgiveness, Justice, Peacefulness, Reliability

Corina got the citizenship award at her school today. Yay Corina! She's such a good girl.
We're really enjoying our time together now that I'm done my semester. I go to school with her most mornings, and then we just hang out all afternoon and play or whatever. It's awesome.

A very frightening Tootsie Pop story.

I ate a Tootsie Pop (red) while I was reading. The situation was a little something like this:

When the Tootsie Pop was all gone, I kept the stick in my mouth while I read. I was sitting very still. I was a statue, in fact. After probably twenty minutes, I guess my mouth twitched. The stick moved a little, and I screamed and almost died. I forgot I had it in my mouth. Not knowing there's a sucker stick in my mouth and then having it move is apparently the scariest thing that could ever happen to me.

On a less frightening note, I got 64/65 on my first final. I haven't got my mark yet for the second one. And I am soooooo glad to be done with school for four months. Now I get to spend the mornings in Corina's kindergarten, which I suppose is still school, but it's better.
And one other thing. I didn't do any fancy effects on that picture. That's just what the lighting in my living room did. I think it's neat.

Math Class

My friend Evelyn took pictures of the class on our last day of math. This is how I look when I'm working hard and don't know there's a camera pointed at me.

And this is how I look when I'm posing for the camera.

I'm disgusting.

I had my exam this morning, and it went really well. I totally guessed on two questions, but other than those ones I pretty much had it. Tomorrow I write one more exam and then I'm done. And I am very happy about that.

I did it. It. IT.

Today was the last day of school! My semester is done. I just have two exams next week, and then I am completely done until September. As exhausting as this year was, it really did go by quickly. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a 4.0 again this semester. Well, that's if I don't screw up these two exams. I think I'll be okay. And then scholarships for next year!

Will Ferrell is my boyfriend too.

I can't get the video to work on my blog, so there's a link to it. It's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Even funnier than Bobby.

This picture.

I want this to be my profile picture for more than two days. It refuses! That stupid red x is making me cross.

We take pictures of everything we do.

For over a year now, the bus stop in these pictures has been our LOST bus stop. (LOST = the best show that ever existed.) Corina invented a game where we have to choose which character we are, and then we have to balance on the wood while we walk to the fence. If we make it there, the character survives. If not, they die. We then go back and try to get all the characters safely to the fence before the bus comes. I like to start with Sawyer, and Corina starts with Kate.

I like to take pictures of silly things like this, because one day my babies will be grown-ups, and when they see the pictures they just might remember playing Bus Stop LOST.

The reason we were taking the bus was because Corina's birthday isn't only one day. We let it last all week. It was time for her birthday dinner. She made me proud and chose to go to O-Sho for Japanese food. We get to sit in cool little rooms on the floor there, and it's very fun. Corina almost has the hang of chopsticks.

Max does too, although you can't tell it by this picture.

I totally have the hang of it, thanks to that chopsticks obsession I had a couple of years ago.

We had a really fun time together, and now Corina's birthday week is coming to an end. Not to worry though...Max's birthday is in a month!

Birthday girl.

Corina turned 6 on Tuesday. We had her party today, and invited way too many kids.

This is just some of the kids we invited. A couple of others didn't squish in for the picture. But look how cute they are. A whole bunch of little princesses. (A pride of princesses?)

I love this picture. Princesses eating hotdogs in the backyard.

Now just look at how many presents Corina got from her friends. Isn't that insane? I know I never had friends like that when I was a kid.

I still can't believe she's already 6. Next month Max turns 10. Weird.

(Hey, do any of you know why my profile picture would keep turning into a red x?)

Bobby @ #74. I can't stop watching this.

The "I know" thing he does is so awesome. He reminds me of one of the special needs kids I worked with.

Thanks Dainon!

New Easter clothes

This is Corina's fancy new dress...
And here is Max's awesome new tie.

Corina took this picture. It didn't really turn out so well, but those of you who don't believe my hair isn't black anymore will now be believers.

Easter so far...

The Easter Bunny hid our eggs on Thursday night. That just worked better for us.

Today we went to the Galt Museum, where we made our own ice cream. The local news came for some reason, so I imagine tonight we will be famous. There is a news camera aimed right at them in these pictures.

Making the ice cream was better than eating it, but that's only because there was way too much vanilla in it. Corina managed to eat all of hers though. She even said it was good!
Tomorrow the kids will be wearing their fancy Easter clothes, so more pictures will be coming. I bet you can't wait.

Cookies and Kids and Brian Bonsall.

I've said this before: I make the best chocolate chip cookies ever. I just made approximately a million of them. Tomorrow is my last day at the middle school, so we're going to have a little party. Hard to believe that was the whole semester! I liked it there a lot, but I'm glad to be done. Now I'll have much more time to work on other assignments.

Remember that cute little boy from Family Ties? He was cute. And little.

And then he grew up. Sad.
