That's it. No more of me for you!

Someone said this to me recently...

"I had tooken a course in that when I was in school."

I fainted. Not everyone has perfect grammar, and I sure don't have perfect grammar, but "tooken"? It hurts me every time I think of it. I don't think I can spend my time with someone who speaks that way. It's a good enough reason to cut someone off, right?

You could never date my brother then.

I think you're justified. I had to quit a job once because my boss spoke that way. I wanted to stab myself in the ear with my pencil every time she opened her mouth. It was awful.

Maybe they had a course about Tucan's?...
I hate hearing "She learned me that in school." or "Drugged" instead of "Dragged".
I do sometimes say "I winned!" instead of "I won" and "I dud it" instead of "I did it/I've done it."... Oh dear. Don't hate me.

I was in a job orientation several years ago with a "trainer" who pronounced "special" "spatial." It took me a minute to realize she was actually saying "special" because she said everything else like a normal person.

My best friend can't pronounce philadelphia. Needless to say, we sometimes come up with ways for her to have to say that word.
