Halloween

Corina and I were having a chat about Halloween costumes. She said, "I know just what I want to be. I want to be Cindylocks from Wizard of Oz!"

Cinderella, Goldilocks, and Dorothy all became one person in her mind. After further conversation, I now know this is what she wants to be.

I don't think I can find a cheap Dorothy costume at Walmart, though. She's probably out of luck.

How handy are you with a sewing machine?

I used one in grade 8 a couple of times. Unfortunately that's it.

Yeah, but Dorothy (aka: Cindylocks) is one of those Mom-favorite costumes, according to MY mom, anyway. You don't have to make a real costume, you just get a gingham dress of any kind from DI/Salvation Army/whatever you have and put her hair in braids. With an easter basket (and she can collect the candy in it) and a stuffed dog, TA DA! Judy Garland! Easy Peasy!

I was going to say try the thrift stores for a gingham dress, but it looks like someone already beat me to it!

Good idea, two people! I'll try that.

Or I bet you could find a table cloth with that pattern. Wrap it around corina with a cute white top and tell her she's the hipper more modern Dorothy. She'll also have to trade the dog in for a chihuahua to be completely new age authentic.
